Spring 2026 public program

MIT Architecture is pleased to announce our spring 2026 public programs; a continuing conversation on where we are now, centered on our department’s convergence of practice, design, and research.  

This semester, around the theme “Scales of Architecture”, MIT Architecture will explore constructed geographies; the intersection of craft, community, and industry; architecture as landscape; actionable idealism; alternative thermal paradigms and our collective quality of life. At each event, we invite in-person visitors and remote audiences to share and question the ways that architecture frames constructs and changes the world. 

This series is a collaboration between the faculty, staff, and students of MIT’s Department of Architecture, which includes architects, designers, urbanists, film makers, historians, critics, theorists, artists, social entrepreneurs, and experts in computation and building technology.  

Alongside the academic programs and public events, student- and faculty-run exhibits, publications and platforms expand our agenda.  

Spring 2026 features two exhibitions in our Keller Gallery. The first, "Nature and Construction In America", highlights the work of the Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha. It is curated by Professor Angelo Bucci, Haiyi Blue Chan, MArch'27, and Sarah Okayli Masaryk, MArch'27. The second, “Beyond Data-Driven Aesthetics,” on 20th century “proto-AI” aesthetic systems is curated by Alexandros Haridis, MS’17, PhD’22.
