The Cologne Academy of Media Arts (KHM) cordially invites you to the 2026 Exhibition. This traditional annual exhibition presents a diverse programme featuring exhibitions, film screenings, concerts, performances and readings. On display are recent works by students and final-year students on the ‘Media Arts’ course.
Anyone wishing to get to know the KHM or interested in studying there will gain a particularly authentic and comprehensive insight into the college, its working methods and the diversity of artistic approaches during the tour. At the same time, the event creates the atmosphere of a wonderful five-day summer festival.
A total of 75 students have completed their degrees this year. The majority of their final projects can be viewed as part of the Rundgang. No fewer than 30 graduation projects will be presented along the exhibition route—including video and sound installations, photographic works, mixed-media pieces, sculptures, paintings and literary works.
The film programmes in the KHM auditorium and at the Filmforum in the Museum Ludwig will screen a total of 42 graduation and project films. Highlights include, for example, two short films that recently had their world premiere at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival. In addition to the exhibitions, studios, laboratories and seminars offer fascinating insights into artistic working processes and current projects. In total, there are more than 100 works to discover. The programme is complemented by readings, courtyard concerts and performances taking place daily. This year, the walking tour route along the Filzengraben is once again extended to include the KHM’s new main building at Heumarkt 14.
For prospective students, special advisory sessions on studying at the KHM will be offered on Thursday and Saturday.
