Andre Keichian is an interdisciplinary artist and educator. His work questions how connections between themes of exile, trans identities, and diaspora might speak to geopolitical and subjective understandings of migration.
Mimi Plumb: Visiting Artist Lecture Series

Mimi Plumb is part of a long tradition of socially engaged photographers whose work explores the landscapes and communities of California and the American West. Since the 1970s, Plumb’s photographs have addressed the effects of climate change, unbridled capitalism and looming military conflict.
Dyani White Hawk: The California Studio

Dyani White Hawk is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice, strongly rooted in painting and beadwork, reflects upon cross-cultural experiences through the amalgamation of influences from Lakota and Euro/American abstraction. Co-sponsored by the Gorman Museum of Native American Art and the Manetti Shrem Museum.

About the Maria Manetti Shrem Art Studio Program at UC Davis
The Maria Manetti Shrem Art Studio Program at UC Davis challenges students to cultivate curiosity and sustain the courage to embrace the unknown through art. Art students at the undergraduate and graduate level are encouraged to explore a broad range of disciplines and to participate in opportunities outside the classroom, including The California Studio: Manetti Shrem Artist Residencies, the Betty Jean and Wayne Thiebaud Lecture, the Visiting Artist Lecture Series, professional practice seminars, student exhibitions, competitions and internships. The department supports 14 generously funded M.F.A. students and attracts students from all over the United States and the world.
