Laura McLean-Ferris is a writer and curator based in Paris. Her work has appeared in many publications and her short-form collection The Lacustrine was published in 2016. Formerly, she was Chief Curator at Swiss Institute, New York, where she worked from 2015-2021.

Valentin Noujaïm according to Yina Jiménez Suriel
“In Noujaïm’s films, voices appear before bodies. There is something deeply political in this. A voice can traverse walls, times, generations, and geographies. It can persist even when its source has disappeared. The voice neither restores nor cancels loss. It can survive architecture, monuments, and institutions. Among all the forms that recur throughout Noujaïm’s work, the voice occupies a singular place because it serves as one of the primary vehicles through which disappearance is made perceptible.”

Yina Jiménez Suriel is a curator based in the Dominican Republic. She is co-artistic director of the XIII Sequences Biennial in Reykjavík, part of the curatorial team for the 37th Bienal de São Paulo and associate editor of Contemporary And (C&).
