UTS School of Design is engages in teaching and research practices that are situated within a wider domain of cultural production.
The School has approx. 2000 students in the areas of Animation, Fashion and Textiles, Integrated Product Design, Interior and Spatial Design, Photography and Visual Communication Design with excellent production facilities to support these disciplines.
We are seeking new faculty who have a highly developed ability to motivate and inspire students combined with a strong creative practice and an established research profile. They must be willing to contribute to the development of a school culture that values critical thinking, creative practice and practice-led teaching and research.
Five new positions have become available in the areas of Animation, Fashion and Textiles, Integrated Product Design, Interior and Spatial Design, Photography and Visual Communication Design. These positions require a willingness to collaborate in the dynamic dialogue between theory and practice that forms the basis of the studio-based teaching in the School. The new faculty members will teach in the undergraduate program and supervise higher degree research students, whilst maintaining an active practice and research profile.
The School has an extensive Global Studio and Global Internship program with over 25 international Studio’s per year across USA, Europe and Asia. We have a focus on cultural engagement, social responsibility and urban culture that propels the school to partner with industry, NGO’s, activists and cultural institutions worldwide.
The successful candidate will have a significant record of research publications and practice and hold a PhD, MFA or equivalent research degree in this or a related field.
The roles are available on a full-time permanent basis.
