Parsons The New School for Design presents its fourth annual Parsons Festival, taking place April 25 through May 25. It features exhibitions, symposia, panel discussions, critiques and special projects that celebrate the next generation of artists and designers working in a range of disciplines.
Highlights of this year include a talk from legendary fashion designer Diane Von Furstenberg (May 12), the presentation at Wanted Design of student product designs for Areaware (May 16–19), and Making/Meaning, a graduate student–curated exhibition of undergraduate student work that places particular emphasis on the process of learning and creating in art and design (April 28–May 23).
“This annual event enables us to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, and the cross-disciplinary, collaborative work that comes out of our studios,” said Parsons Executive Dean Joel Towers. “It’s a chance for the general public to see what’s next from Parsons, and to hear from some of the design luminaries that we find inspiring.”
The Parsons Festival is an official event of NYCxDESIGN for the second year of this citywide event celebrating New York City’s diverse design scene.
