OCAD University (OCAD U) is Canada’s largest specialized university of art, media and design.  Located on a twelve-building campus in the heart of downtown Toronto, OCAD University offers a vibrant and stimulating work environment for over 400 faculty and more than 3800 undergraduate and 150 graduate students. Committed to excellence and contemporary approaches to education, OCAD University offers 13 undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) or a Bachelor of Design (BDes) degree, and seven graduate programs that result in the Master of Fine Arts (MFA), Master of Design (MDes) or the Master of Arts (MA). OCAD University has recently launched the interdisciplinary Digital Futures program, and will welcome its first cohort of students in its new interdisciplinary Indigenous Visual Culture BFA in September 2013. The University has experienced remarkable growth over the past five years and requires outstanding creative researchers/practitioners and gifted teachers to join OCAD U in an exciting period of institutional development and opportunity.

Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences & School of Interdisciplinary Studies
Assistant Professor, Art History
Assistant Professor, Biological Sciences/Biomimicry
Digital Futures Initiative, Assistant Professor, Business Enterprise

Cross Appointment
Associate Chair and Assistant Professor, Contemporary Art Practice & Indigenous Visual Culture (approximately 50% Faculty of Art and 50% Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences and School of Interdisciplinary Studies)

Qualifications
Candidates will have a terminal or advanced degree: a PhD is preferred in Liberal Arts & Sciences and preferably, a Master’s degree in studio disciplines. Applicants must have experience in the relevant discipline plus a strong record of creative practice, research, scholarship and publication and/or exemplary professional practice. Evidence of post-secondary teaching expertise is required along with an aptitude for innovative curriculum development in a degree-granting art and design university. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The review of applications will begin on February 1, 2013 and will continue until the positions are filled.  All appointments are expected to commence on July 1, 2013, subject to budgetary approval.
