The Essence
As the highlight of the academic year The Essence 12 showcases the origins and development processes of selected individual and group projects by students and graduates from winter and summer semester 2011/12. They represent the various art departments as extraordinary idea workshops with their own unique profiles, in exemplary fashion.

In collaboration curator Edek Bartz has organised together with lecturers and students an exhibition of the most intriguing projects from the various study programmes. The works exhibited are arranged within the setting of the Angewandte: art as a seismograph of a changing society, as a form-giver of society, as an institution that provokes change.
