Application period: October 1–December 15, 2011
Program dates: February 14–May 8,2012
The Node Center for Curatorial Studies is a platform of formation, experimentation, and diffusion in the field of curatorship and in the contemporary artistic practices.
The Center’s core activity stems from the 12-week long Curatorial Residency Program that offers its participants the possibility of expanding their work experience, with professional feedback and technical support, by developing projects in Berlin.
The program allows resident curators to develop specific theoretical-practical research during their residency, which will include the participation on a publication and the curation of a final show. The residency is reinforced with activities such as studio visits, workshops, seminars, meetings with art professionals and visits to exhibition spaces. Participants are also expected to have an active role in organizing seminars, workshops and guest lectures.
Each year, Node focuses on a key topic that questions inherited curatorial practices and that invents new ways of creating knowledge by finding new possibilities in the exhibition process.
During February–May 2012, the line of research ‘The logic of the limit: transversal curatorial processes’ will be examined for the third and last time.
