School of Visual Arts (SVA) presents Digital Manifestations, an exhibition that brings together selected thesis projects from graduating MFA Computer Art Department students. Curated by Charley Lewis, the exhibition will be on view from May 20 through June 4 at the Visual Arts Gallery, 601 West 26th Street, 15th floor, New York City.
Digital Manifestations presents over 45 projects that use the latest technologies, as well as traditional art production methods, to realize the artists’ unique creative explorations. Topics such as the search for personal identity in an urban environment, social interaction, locative media, the impact technology has had on human interaction, how perception functions in real and virtual environments and the reinterpretation of data from literal sources to abstract imagery in streaming environments, are presented in multiple media. Linear video works include single and multi-channel installations exploring both narrative and abstract expression through 3D animation, motion graphics and stop motion animation. Other techniques used to create the projects include programming, digital fabrication methods, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, computer vision, and human-computer interaction.
The Visual Arts Gallery, located at 601 West 26th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues, 15th floor, is open Monday through Thursday, 10am to 6pm; Friday, 10am to 5pm; Saturday 10am–6pm and is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Admission is free. The gallery is accessible by wheelchair.

The MFA Computer Art Department emphasizes creative experimentation and a multidisciplinary approach. Dedicated to producing digital artists of the highest caliber, the department guides each student in the development of a personal artistic style and a course of study that is individually tailored to meet his/her needs. The program also offers concentrations in animation, digital video/motion graphics, installation and digital fine art, interactive media, sound art and performance.
School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City is an established leader and innovator in the education of artists.
