Graduate-level artists, designers exhibit work through May 16
Friday, April 8–Sunday, May 1Wednesday, May 4–Monday, May 15The M.F.A. in Community Arts program, which launched in 2010, prepares artists to use their artmaking as a means of support for civic, youth and community development.
M.F.A. in Graphic Design students work in print, animation, Web design, product development, environmental design and other media to engage the larger society in which design functions.
Hoffberger candidates emphasize a deeply held relationship with a symbolic order, often with pop sources taken from the Internet, films or pulp fiction.
The multidisciplinary Mount Royal School of Art seeks to broaden the definition of artmaking, and its students create solo performances (live and video), complex color photo prints of invented worlds, experimental animations, sculptures of baroque construction and paintings dealing with vignettes of dark American scenes.
Candidates in the M.F.A. in Photographic Electronic Media program trace the effects of digitization on the traditional practices of photography-creating work that utilizes techniques of digital cinema, interactive environments, social networking and more.
Rinehart students explore the dynamic and diverse nature of sculpture in a multi-dimensional environment using a range of media-including performance, video and multimedia installation-and both traditional and novel materials.
