Galleries programmed and overseen by the Director/Chief Curator include: 1) The Goldie Paley Gallery featuring the work of emerging and established national and international artists and designers; 2) The Levy Gallery for the Arts in Philadelphia highlighting area artists and designers with a focus on collaboration, artistic exploration and experimentation; 3) the Insights Gallery in the window gallery on Race Street featuring highly visual exhibitions of emerging talent; 4) the Wilson Gallery, 5) the Graham Gallery and 5) the Widener Memorial Foundation Galleries, as well as 7) the permanently endowed Moore Galleries at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, featuring rotating exhibitions of student, faculty and alumnae works.
The Gallery Director/Chief Curator serves as an active member of the President’s Senior Management Team. She/he oversees a staff of two full-time staff as well as part-time installers, student interns and work study students.
Requirements:
• Experience curating exhibitions and managing a contemporary art gallery. (more than three years preferred).
• A demonstrated record of successful fundraising for exhibitions and public programs.
• Exceptionally strong organization, presentation, written and spoken communications skills.
• An ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse constituencies.
• A passion for art and design, excellence and collaboration.
• M.A. or M.F.A. in art history, curatorial studies, museum studies, or arts administration, preferred.
• Evening and weekend hours required for programs and special events.
