PhDs make an original contribution to knowledge via practice and/or written thesis. NIEA PhDs may enrol through any of COFA’s four schools-Art, Art History and Art Education, Design Studies and Media Arts or may affiliate to the Research Centres within NIEA:
The Centre for Interactive Cinema (iCinema), which supports interdisciplinary artistic/scientific research into digital media, environmental arts, interactive aesthetics and immersive visualization, intelligent systems.
The Centre for Contemporary Art and Politics (CCAP), which supports research into politics, social practice, visual anthropology and ethnography.
Applications are now open for graduate research programs commencing in Jan/Feb 2011.
