A brief description
Konstfack’s training provides its students with the artistic, practical, methodical and theoretical prerequisites for work as artists, artist-craftsmen or designers at a high aesthetic, ethical and functional level. The education arises from a starting point in specialised workshop-based knowledge with a focus on material, process and method.
The goal is to give students in-depth theoretical and practical skills needed to develop an independent and relevant artistic practice within the specific context they create or choose to work in, and to enable them to reflect critically on cultural, socio-political contexts as well as on the context of the intellectual history in which they work.
Responsibilities
The professor’s duties include responsibility for artistic leadership and development in the subject area ceramics and glass, plus responsibility for students’ studies. This also includes active involvement in development of artistic research. The professor shall follow the students’ work, through individual discussions, reviews, criticism and artistic supervision. The professor shall form part of the working team that will collaborate on, assume responsibility for and drive the department’s development. The post is associated with the incumbent’s own artistic development. The job also includes administrative work and involvement in Konstfack’s joint work, e.g. on committees.
