Assistant Director vacancy at University of Essex Collection of Latin American Art (UECLAA)

The post will involve working closely with the Department of Art History and Theory, the University’s Arts Office and fundraising staff, and with firstsite, Colchester’s premier contemporary arts organisation, on the exciting new building designed by Rafael Viñoly which is scheduled to open in 2007. Plans for this building include a permanent display of UECLAA, a research centre and an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions and residencies.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent level qualification, experience of raising funds, experience of working in a museum or gallery and be fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese.

Appointment to this full-time post will be made on the scale £20,044 – £30,002 per annum (under review from the 1 August 2006), depending on qualifications and experience.
