Visiting Assistant Professor position at University of Illinois at Chicago

One year non-renewable position. MFA required, salary commensurate with experience. National/international exhibition required; teaching experience preferred. Teach painting in a high-level interdisciplinary program at both undergraduate and graduate levels. UIC’s fine arts program has a strong intellectual/conceptual focus and serves a diverse community of students in a vibrant and complex urban setting. In addition to a strong studio practice, candidates must have advanced knowledge of the critical/theoretical discourse related to contemporary art. Minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. For fullest consideration applications must be submitted by April 1, 2005. Review of applications will continue until position is filled.
