MA Design: Fashion and Textiles
MA Design: Fashion and Textiles is aimed at ambitious Textile practitioners who wish to develop design concept and product for Fashion, Interiors, or Applied Arts. It is not a pure Fashion design course, although skilled and independent fashion specialists are welcomed. The programme of study allows for the free development of creative design practice and thinking in conjunction with valuable marketing, business and professional development skills, building comprehensive understanding, vision and direction.
MA Design: Fashion and TextilesMA Design: Fashion and Textiles
Textiles is framed in the broadest sense, and as well as the traditional disciplines of print, embroidery, knit and weave, you may explore diverse practices including manipulation or surface engineering, and through the fullest range of materials, including paper, leather, and plastics. Quality making and workmanship are at the heart of both hand and digital practices. Applications may be for garment or accessory, interior surfaces and products, or object based applied arts.
MA Design: Ceramics
Rooted in material investigation, MA Design: Ceramics allows exploration of ceramics through art, craft and design contexts. You’ll develop skills and knowledge through an exciting combination of material investigation and research. This will allow you to contextualise your practice in relation to current debates in art, craft and design and to develop an individual production strategy.
MA Design: CeramicsMA Design: Ceramics
You’ll receive specialised ceramics tuition from a dedicated team of academic and technical staff, as well as from regular part-time lecturers and visiting practitioner/artists. You’ll be part of a lively ceramics community based around comprehensive workshop provision and studio spaces. As postgraduate students, you’ll have the opportunity to extend and hone your making skills in conjunction with developing your understanding of how a ceramics specialisation might relate to production in art, craft or design contexts.
