This exhibition includes juried works, faculty selections, and site-specific installations by first-year undergraduate students in the Contemporary Practices program. During the opening reception, Contemporary Practices will also present Inter-Action, a showcase of live performance and ephemeral works; Black Box, featuring linear time-based video work; and Expanded Cinema, featuring GIFS, 3D mapping, web-based games, sounds works, and video designed for looping.

ARTBASH 48.24.12 screening

This video premiere features screenings of entries in the 48.24.12 Video Contest, which challenges first-year undergraduate students to shoot and edit a winning video in just 48 hours. A live jury will announce the winning team at the screening.

The MFA Show is the culminating public presentation of more than 115 MFA candidates’ new and ambitious work. Students work for more than six months with three guest curators and 12 graduate curatorial assistants to envision the exhibition, an approach that allows for dialogue, process, and collaborative decision-making among the curatorial teams and artists.
