MEXTRÓPOLI is a window that opens four days a year for live the exraordinary city.
Since 20 years, Arquine has created uninterrupted links between architecture and culture.
Arquine has expanded the limits of printed publications with the construction of educative and communicative platforms as the Arquine Congress. An event which brought together the most outstanding personalities of architecture such as Zaha Hadid, Eyal Weizman, Bjarke Ingels and Denisse Scott Brown.
The Congress evolved to MEXTRÓPOLI Festival of Architecture and City, which in 2018 presents its fifth edition; consolidating itself as a referential event in the architectural culture just like in the cultural agenda of Mexico City.
MEXTRÓPOLI make available to the public the voices of architects, artists, mayors and humanists who are globally recognized in their respective disciplines, maintaining always its curatorial level which also offers affordable prices to learners and anyone interested in the present and future directions of the city.
MEXTRÓPOLI is a platform which allows you to experience the city, as well as to reflect on its political, aesthetic and citizen competencies. This edition, which will take place from March the 17 to the 20, 2018, will also be held within the recently compliments 20 years of the Arquine Magazine—the official means of MEXTRÓPOLI—whose effort to disseminate the architectural culture, allowing also the diffusion of topics of urban and public interest.
In its fifth consecutive edition, MEXTRÓPOLI is positioned in the global panorama as one of the most important platforms which allows the discussion of tangential issues of the future of cities:
–Six months after the earthquake that took place on September 19, 2017, MEXTRÓPOLI proposes to review the reconstruction of the city and the affected areas by the hand of real estate agents, managers and citizens.
–For the third time, the Arquine Contest will unveil a built Pavilion in the Alameda Central, which will be a playful device which will activate social relations in the public space. In addition, more than 20 installations will be presented in public area; designed by institutions such as UNAM, IBERO Puebla, Anáhuac Querétaro University, Maristas Mérida, Sci-Arc (Los Angeles), among others.
