Florence Jung is an artist who infiltrates contexts and situations. You may have heard about the philosophers she turned into Israeli secret agents, the clandestine chicken farm hidden in the French countryside, the two people hired to live the exact same life at opposite ends of the world, that slamming white door, or the mysterious Mathias Sander. Not much evidence of Florence Jung’s works is left behind. They exist merely as records from those who experienced them, as countless individual versions, some ever-expanding and others forever forgotten.

Florence Jung lives in Amsterdam, where she is artist-in-residence at the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten. She was awarded the Swiss Performance Prize in 2013, the Swiss Art Award and the Dr. Georg and Josi Guggenheim Prize in 2017.

The Dr. Georg and Josi Guggenheim Prize is awarded every year to a participant of the Swiss Art Awards exhibition in Basel. The jury members in 2017 were Bice Curiger, Mandy Gnägi, Patrick Huber, Mirjam Varadinis and Andreas Vogel.

F+F School of Art and Design was founded in Zurich in 1971 and has played a pioneering role in Swiss art education since then. The school experimented with performance, video and the new media early on and became increasingly well-established as a professional educational venue for art and design.
