Boccanera Gallery and Drifters are delighted to invite you to Non-Euclidean Alpine Adventures, a widespread project inwardly visible, where dialogue is the means to navigate and explore universes and modalities of proceeding, which will take place in Trento and in several other locations around the world and beyond.
As alpine guides, Valentina Miorandi and Sandrine Nicoletta propose a constellation of different locations which travellers can explore through visions, hikes and encounters with alpine guides. Spread out in various parts of the world, these guides belong to the itinerary, triggering a reflection about our ways of proceeding and the tools we activate in order to explore what is unknown.
The opening day, Saturday, October 3, will culminate in a concert/performance in cooperation with the alpine guide Francesco Fuzz Brasini and a galactic closing party.
The expedition consists of places to explore and for alpine guides to meet in the following locations:

Drifters was born in London in 2014 with the interest in weaving directions, exploring places and people through a heuristic approach. Its aim is to extend the cognitive activity through travelling. Recently, Drifters undertook an academic research project based on the recollection of case studies (Heuristic Records), which consist of dialogues regarding ways of proceeding which are capable of revealing our intimate morphologies and the forces of attraction that influence our life choices.
Sandrine Nicoletta is an artist and performer with a background in the social field. She has 20 years of experience in research and artistic practice in public places, as well as an international exhibition curriculum. She graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of Bologna, participated in many artists-in-residence programs and completed her Master in Fine Arts at the University of the Arts, London (UK).
Valentina Miorandi is an artist and exhibition designer. She graduated from the University of Bologna with a degree in Theory and Practice of Theatre, and was awarded fellowships for attending a Master degree in Film Direction at the New York Film Academy (USA), and a Master in Direction of Photography at ESCAC (Spain). She is currently studying at Dutch Art Institute (NL). Her work has been shown in Italy and abroad in museums, galleries, and public spaces.
DIALOGUES
…
We are water suspended between earth and sky. I have never seen such a straight spine.
Sky and earth become a curve along which I can extend myself.
The rhythm of our pace generates the rhythm of thought.
Is the last step depending on the first one?
Even Homer doesn’t neglect any action.
I think of a sentence to begin with and some words to continue. I wonder whether these are expressions of a language of my own, or that of another.
I can feel the movement of my thinking.
Now they are two, still waiting. Already moving before starting to move.
They look at each other more as the gaze transforms them.
Every encounter is an extension of our own morphologies.
How do you stand up and proceed?
Perhaps there exists no knowledge, only the energy of knowledge.
Enriching the vocabulary of our own being.
Everything is possible.
Everything is not anything.
