ARTBO, International Art Fair of Bogota is proud to announce its 11th edition, following a widely successful ten-year anniversary celebration in 2014. Over 31,000 people attended ARTBO last year, including over 300 national and international collectors, curators, institution directors and art world professionals invited through our VIP Program.
Throughout its ten editions, ARTBO has managed to position itself as one of the most important art fairs in Latin America and has been globally recognized for its quality. The fair’s unique model, which includes a wide program of both commercial and non-commercial sections, and its focus on quality and diversity, has given the fair one of the most refreshing and cutting-edge perspectives within the art fair circuit. As such, the fair has been a key element in the worldwide recognition that Colombian art and its vibrant scene are enjoying today.
ARTBO 2015 promises to be the fair’s best year yet, with more galleries, new curators and new sections. The complete ARTBO 2015 program will be announced in the upcoming months.
This year the fair has partnered with different institutions and events taking place in Bogotá and Medellín through VIP and press trips for its international guests: the MAMM, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Medellín, which will be opening its new building in September as part of its program to showcase and expand its collection; MDE15, Encuentro Internacional de Arte de Medellín, which takes place every four years as a prestigious international platform which recognizes the importance of artistic practice as a means to influence change in cities; Premio Luis Caballero, an award which recognizes the work of important mid-career Colombian artists and produces site-specific interventions throughout Bogotá; and the second edition of LaOtra – Bienal de Arte de Bogotá.
These partnerships are part of the fairs’ expansion project throughout the country, which seeks to extend the fair’s program beyond the fair venue and fair days, through a series of partnerships, events, exhibitions and interventions. ARTBO is currently accepting applications for its MAIN SECTION which will feature 70 galleries from around the world. The application form is available online here. The final application deadline for this section is April 17.
