VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary is proud to announce its tenth edition from 2 to 5 October 2014

VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary has established itself as the top-ranking platform for contemporary art originating from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, and as a vital meeting point for artists, galleries, collectors, and institutions from East and West.

With the growing number of prominent domestic and international art collectors and professionals who visit Austria’s leading contemporary art fair and ever-rising sales to match, the event has become a new highlight on the global art calendar.

Thanks to the ongoing visionary and diligent work of its galleries, institutions and museums, Vienna continues to be the beating heart of the contemporary art community in the region, offering a dazzling array of art and culture to its visitors.

VIENNAFAIR The New Contemporary boasts an impressive series of fringe events such as VIENNA Duet, ZONE1 and VIENNA Family. With a new series of talks aimed at keeping the finger on the pulse of today’s contemporary art scene and a new edition of the Collectors Talks Forum, VIENNA Talks once again promises to be one of the highlights of the fair.

See you at VIENNAFAIR 2014!

We welcome applications in the following categories:

Established: for contemporary art galleries established for more than five years, i.e. founded before 2009. Partnering of galleries is possible on the understanding that one of the galleries is officially located outside of Austria.
Young: for galleries founded between the 2009 and 2014.
Zone1: for solo presentations by an Austrian artist not older than 40 years of age. This is a section with a limited number of exhibitors.
Reflections: for presentations by a single artist/group of artists based on a concise curatorial concept provided by the applicant.
Base: for presentations in the broadest sense. No walls, no lighting, only square meters of space. Project size and positioning have to comply with the overall architectural concept of VIENNAFAIR.
Editions: for presentations by galleries, institutions and publishing houses producing series and multiples of contemporary artwork.
Institutions: for presentations by museums, institutions and collections from Austria and abroad.
