Catch the fever, collect photography
After two successful editions, fotofever the contemporary photography art fair is back in Brussels and in Paris!

Infused with talent, fotofever explores the diversity of today’s photography thanks to more than 100 international exhibitors showcasing mostly exciting unknown artists in three different sections:

Main section: galleries representing at least one young artist or a recent series
Young section: galleries highlighting only one artist in a solo show booth
Publishers: presentation of newly editioned photographic art books

“A selection made to appeal both the young and the experienced eyes.”
–Janette Danel, fotofever artistic director.

Fotofever’s spirit is about conviviality and commitment in order to initiate the vocation of collecting in an approach far from prejudices.

Both events are gathering visitors in two major capital cities in Europe, two main crossroads of collectors where the VIPs will be guided thanks to a special program of visits and discoveries.

Brussels and Paris fairs will present numerous areas of exploration:

Fotocollections
–Exhibition of a corporate collection from ABN AMRO Private Banking, fotofever brussels’s main sponsor
–Exhibition of a private collection bringing any visitor into a collector’s universe in order to spread the desire to collect photography with this year’s attractive theme: “la fesse
–Exhibition of an institutional collection from the biggest European photography museum: Musée De La Photographie (Charleroi, Belgium) an exhibition that highlights emerging Belgian artists.

Fotoprize
Exhibition of Saartje van de Steene, the 2013 fotoprize winner. She has been elected by a jury of exception composed of Valerie Belin, Jean-François Camp, Christian Caujolle, Jan Hoet and Simone Klein and chaired by Janette Danel for her series You can get pretty lonely out here and your visit is like a good medicine in which she uses the wet plate collodion technique. Her series will be produced thanks to the generosity of Milo Profi Fotographie, Antwerp.

Fototalks
A platform program of discussions, which are intended to share love, knowledge and passion for the photography between exhibitors, partners, local institutions, collectors and visitors.

Fotobook
To keep the spirit of the fair after the fair a photography book is bringing together a selection of images presented by the exhibitors from both fotofever Brussels and fotofever Paris in partnership with Snoeck editions.

Fotoguide
To initiate new collectors to photography, fotofever created a guide to collect offering keys and tips in one small collector guide.

Fotofolio
To create another relationship between professionals and photographers, portfolio reviews are organized in both Paris and Brussels in partnership with Fetart, creators of the European young photography festival Circulation(s).

Fotoapp
This year a brand new application (iPhone & iPad) has been developed by Collectrium, the #1 art inventory management platform, in order to provide the visual identification technology and to have a virtual view of the fair. Soon available on the iTunes store.

Fotofever
“fotofever is the fruit of an osmosis between a curious public, the involvement of passionate gallerists and great trust accorded by renowned institutions and partners,” states founder Cécile Schall.

The ambition of fotofever is now to spread its fever on each continent…

keep an eye on the fever!
