On January 23rd, Paddle8 launches its third themed auction, FORECAST13, running until February 6th. The sale offers a selection of artworks from the categories of contemporary art, photography, neo-pop, post-war editions, and works by today’s leading Indian and Chinese artists. The auction is a collaboration with the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), to which Paddle8 will donate a portion of its commissions from the sale.

The sale is a nod to the year ahead on Paddle8, and an indication of the thematic categories and works that will be offered on the virtual auction house platform in 2013. Works will be offered by Richard Prince, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Takashi Murakami, Nate Lowman, KAWS, Thomas Struth, Lucio Fontana, Chiho Aoshima, Jim Dine, Tom Wesselmann, Victor Vasarely, Claes Oldenburg, Lawrence Weiner, Jean Dubuffet, Enrico Castellani, Jitish Kallat, Riyas Komu, Bose Krishnamachari, Anita Dube, G. R. Iranna, Atul Bhalla, Liu Bolin, Wang Qingsong, Feng Zhengjie, Zhang Xiaogang, Cindy Sherman, Diane Arbus, Henri Cartier-Bresson, JR, Sebastiao Salgado, Bruce Nauman, Elad Lassry, Thomas Ruff, Franz West, Delia Brown, Christoph Schmidberger, Will Cotton, and Jon Pylypchuk.

David Harper, BAM Visual Art Curator: “BAM has long been the home for adventurous artists and ideas. Looking at the list of works in FORECAST13, I see many names who share our mission of being bold and taking risks, and many others who have participated in past visual art projects here—including Auctions, Editions, and Exhibitions—from KAWS to Claes Oldenburg to Eileen Quinlan to Jim Dine. BAM is thrilled to be the benefit partner of this sale.”

FORECAST13 follows the success of Paddle8′s first two themed sales, each seeing over 75% of lots sold. Paddle8′s new auction model allows collectors to consign works remotely, with low commissions and no public sales records.

The sale is live now at paddle8.com/auctions/forecast13.
