Along with the New Year comes a new way of experiencing art online. Independent Collectors (IC), the first community for collectors of contemporary art has recently launched an innovative website upgrade that offers art collectors and lovers from around the world an intuitive and exciting way to experience art online.

Since the beginning of 2012, members as well as visitors of Independent Collectors have the chance to experience the platform’s content in a dynamic and cutting-edge look. The new site individually adapts to the size of your screen; artworks build a floating stream and get all the space they deserve.

The new design invites to browse through thousands of artworks and to get inspired. The structure is simple: it’s about art, members and all those other sweets that make collecting contemporary art even more fun, such as free subscriptions to leading art magazines or VIP tickets to the most renowned art fairs.

IC members are enthused. According to them, the new site is what collectors have been waiting for: A non-commercial online space that provides an “appealing and inspiring way to discover art and artists.” It is a platform with a “contemporary” and liberating design, where art is now “much more available to everyone.”

For the team behind Independent Collectors this was the main aim. Art collector and IC founder Christian Schwarm emphasizes that it was time for this upgrade in order to offer a “more simple, more colorful and slightly wilder way to experience contemporary art.” According to Christian Schwarm, art creates its own laws and principles that online projects have to respect and adapt to over the years.

ABOUT INDEPENDENT COLLECTORS
Inaugurated in 2008, the Independent Collectors network today counts over 4,000 members and around 18,000 uploaded contemporary artworks, making the platform the largest online exhibition of privately owned art worldwide. From the start, the non-commercial platform was, is and will be free of any charge for it’s members and is supported by its Global Partner BMW as well as by collaborations with select international galleries.
