MARK LOMBARDI

PIEROGI GALLERY (in Miami)

While in Miami take the opportunity to view the drawings of Mark Lombardi

December 4 – 9 | Dec. 4 (3-9pm), Dec. 5-8 (11am-8pm), Dec. 9 (11am-6pm)

Opening: December 4 (3-9pm)

2010 North Miami Avenue | Wynwood | Miami, FL

This will be the first comprehensive exhibition of available Mark Lombardi works since 2005. Working from syndicated news stories and other published reports, Lombardi compiled and transformed vast amounts of financial and historical data into what he called “narrative structures.” The resulting drawings–ranging in size from panoramic works stretching nearly twelve feet across, to small studies–resemble star charts, or web-like structures, and map the political and social terrain of the mid- to late late 20th Century. Also on view will be early Lombardi works exhibited for the first time.
