The 25th edition of Artissima, the only fair in Italy exclusively focused on contemporary art, came to an end on Sunday, November 4. Directed by Ilaria Bonacossa, the event is a truly unmissable contemporary art gathering on a worldwide level. Why? Read below.

25 reasons for our success:

Our stats
35 countries, 195 galleries (79 Italian and 116 international), 47 first time exhibitors, 8 sections (4 curated), over 1,000 works of art, 350 curators and museum directors, 5,500 collectors from 30 countries (12 outside of Europe), 54,800 visitors (+2,800 over to 2017).

Sound—the first new offsite section
A surprising journey through 15 sound installations in the spectacular venue of the OGR – Officine Grandi Riparazioni.

Exclusive VIP programme
Special previews, visits to private collections, concierge and a dedicated shuttle service that made our guests’ stay absolutely unforgettable.

Special guests
This year’s top attendees included the members of the Global Private Museum Network, and over 15 groups of patrons of prestigious art institutions, including the Tate European Collection Circle, the Tate International Council, the Saha Association, the Camden Arts Center, the Friends of the Triennale, the Rembrandt Association, the Mecenes Du Sud, and the supporters of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

7 prizes, museum acquisitions and a new fund
Artissima’s commitment to support creative research in collaboration with long-term and new partners.

Advisory service
A free, independent consulting service offered by our main sponsor UniCredit for the public, providing guidance regarding the legal, taxation and insurance aspects of collecting.

Virtual narratives
An implemented catalogue and agenda, a lively blog, and an exclusive programme of interviews to celebrate our birthday—“Artissima Stories. 25 Years of Art.” And for those who missed the fair or would love to experience it again, #ArtissimaRewind!

Artissima Junior

DAF Struttura
A four-day experience, a stage, a workspace, a thinktank, an archive, a radio station, and a recording studio for 25 students and the public. A prelude to an even wider ranging educational project to be developed throughout the year.

An even more exclusive lounge where people could gather and relax.
