Duties and responsibilities of the position​                                                  
The Professor’s work tasks and responsibilities include:
–Together with other professors, having overall responsibility for the contents of the master’s degree study programme.
–Contributing to development of subject area, within the particular field.
–Developing and leading courses within the subject area.
–Tutoring and examine of students, including providing academic supervision to doctoral students.      
–Contributing to the further development of Konstfack’s research environment, based on the particular subject area.
–Participating in Konstfack’s overall work, such as being a Chair/member/alternate in preparatory and decision-making bodies or a representative in various working groups.

The position                                                                                                        
The position is 60% of full-time, for a maximum of five years. There is the possibility of a renewal of the employment contract for an additional five years.

Qualifications and prerequisites 
In order to qualify to be employed as a professor within the field of arts, crafts and design, the following is required:
–Proven skills in the field of arts, crafts or design, as well as proven teaching skills.
–The same attention will be given to the examination and evaluation of the pedagogical skills with as the examination and evaluation of the artistic skills and expertise.  
–Especially skills in the particular field of ​​that directly relates to the position.  
–Higher education courses in pedagogical skills in university teaching, or that it can be shown in other ways that an equivalent knowledge has been acquired. An applicant who is otherwise deemed have the background and be qualified, but who lacks a formal training in pedagogical skills in teaching will be required to take teacher training courses (7.5 credits/ECTS) and acquire the lacking skills within five years from the commencement of the employment.

Assessment criteria​                                                                                       
The following bases of assessment are used for reviewing the application:
–An established and internationally comparable practice within the particular field.  
–Having earned a doctoral degree relevant to the particular field. 
–Documented pedagogical skills in teaching and experience in academic supervision at the higher education level.      
–An exceptional capability to develop, lead and implement high quality education.                                      
–An exceptional capability to develop, lead and conduct research.
–An excellent ability to express oneself in English, in speech and writing.
–An excellent ability with leading and motivating development work within the subject and pedagogical development work, together with professor colleagues and teaching teams.
–An excellent ability to conduct a problematised and reflective dialogue concerning norm-critical perspectives the educational programme. 
–A well-developed network in the field that are of relevance to the educational programme and research. 
–Excellent organisational skills and administrative capability, plus good interpersonal skills.

​And then subsequently
​Experience with curatorial practices in professional networks and institutions.

Experience with writing articles that have been published in scientific publications and/or texts published in newspapers, magazines, or the professional press. 

Experience in supervising graduate students.    

Good ability to interact with the surrounding community as well as participate in public discussions concerning issues relevant to the field, both nationally and internationally.
