In fall 2018, Columbia University School of the Arts welcomes an array of filmmakers, performers, writers, visual and theatre artists, historians, theorists, and activists to present and discuss their work at the new Lenfest Center for the Arts and other campus venues:                    

Trey Ellis and Jelani Cobb discuss representing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the documentary King in the Wilderness. More

Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons and others consider the exhibition Relational Undercurrents: Contemporary Art of the Caribbean Archipelago. More

Rob King and Jack Lechner screen Swoon, The Player, Harlan County USA, and other films from the career of Ira Deutchman. More

Lance Weiler leads a workshop on empathetic storytelling. More

Missy Mazzoli, Karen Russell, Melissa Smey, and Royce Vavrek discuss the opera Proving Up on the eve of its New York premiere. More

Judith Butler, Masha Gessen, and Jeanine Tesori celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Center for the Study of Social Difference and the 5th anniversary of Women Creating Change. More

Friends remember poet Lucie Brock-Broido (1956–2018). More
