Academic position in Painting

The ANU School of Art & Design (SOA&D) is focused on achieving excellence in research and teaching in accordance with its position within as a highly ranked Australian university. The School is seeking to appoint an academic for the role of Senior lecturer or Lecturer to contribute to the dynamic and exemplary visual arts programs in the field of Painting which is an outstanding discipline within the School. The candidate will have relevant experience in studio-based teaching and the technical, conceptual and historical underpinnings of contemporary Painting. The capacity for leadership and administration is sought and some experience in both is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have a personal research profile based on an active creative research practice through exhibitions, and other activities relating to and furthering the field. The candidate will contribute to the research activity and profile of the School, and provide high quality and innovative teaching within the undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree research programs. The appointment is a leadership role and will be at Senior Lecturer (C) level or Lecturer (B) level, depending on the attributes and experience of the successful applicant.
