Fine Arts Department
Assistant/Associate Professor, Interdisciplinary Practice
We seek candidates whose work engages two or more of the following: community-engaged and/or hybrid practices, installation, performance, moving image, and digital media to teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels. The successful applicant will be expected to have leadership abilities and to work alongside colleagues in strengthening the Department.
Assistant/Associate Professor, Painting
The selected candidate will teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels and be expected to act as Area Coordinator, play an active role in the life of the Institute and provide service to the Department. We seek applicants whose work actively explores an expanded practice of painting and/or contemporary issues.
Undergraduate Communications Design
Assistant/Associate Professor, Undergraduate Communications Design, 2 positions
Candidates’ professional or scholarly focus may include a broad set of interests and applications within graphic design and illustration including but not limited to: motion, interaction, creative coding, experiential, transdisciplinary design, speculative design, digital storytelling, networked communication and augmented/virtual reality. We seek applicants with a broad vision of the future of Communications Design and the ability to articulate that vision.
Art and Design Education
Assistant Professor, Art and Design Education
We are searching for applicants who can further strengthen and expand the department’s innovative approach to teaching art and design in partnership with New York City’s public schools and community-based institutions. The successful candidate will transition into leading the newly designed, clinically-rich fieldwork and student teaching experience, both graduate and undergraduate, and will be expected to develop collaborative partnerships with New York City teachers, principals and administrators, as well as professional colleagues across the country.
