The AAMC Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Samuel H. Kress and Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) Foundation Affiliated Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome (AAR), which honors exceptional curatorial vision and helps curators advance deserving projects in any field or genre. The purpose of this Fellowship is to provide essential funding for curators to develop projects that require research in Italy. Only one curator is awarded per year. Click here to view past Fellows.
The Fellowship includes a 4-week appointment at the AAR (between fall 2019 and spring 2020), which includes 24-hours a day / 7-days a week access to all facilities (library and overall grounds) and all activities that occur at the Academy, in addition to housing, meals, and access to residence hall kitchens.
Curators working in four wall collecting and non-collecting, community based, and non-four wall organizations, at any location in the globe are eligible. Priority will be given to those working without access to funds to support research travel. Please review the full program benefits and eligibility before applying.
All applications must be submitted through our online portal by 12pm ET on Thursday, January 24, 2019.
