The Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts welcomes your application to participate in one of its 18 courses.

The 2019 programme, under the motto “Where do we stand?”, is diverse and unique in its  global orientation. For instance, Ei Arakawa and Sarah Chow deal with questions of magic in the fields of  installation and performance; Paulina Olowska takes alchemy as her starting-point for painting; Michael Beutler goes into the fundamentals of sculpture and installation, while Sammy Baloji and Lotte Arndt look for hidden (colonial) histories in (museum) collections.

Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts
The Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts, founded in 1953 by Oskar Kokoschka as the “School of Vision”, in Hohensalzburg Fortress, is the oldest of its kind in Europe. Every year, some 300 participants from more than 50 countries attend around 20 courses.

Why Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts?
–open for application to anyone interested
–unique opportunity to study with outstanding artists/curators/writers who mostly don’t hold a professorship elsewhere
–during 1–4 weeks, you can devote yourselves exclusively to reflecting on and producing art
–individual attention, one-on-one critiques as well as group discussions
–fantastic atmosphere in the ancient locations 
–some 80 grants, usually covering participation fee only, are available

Regular application
All prospective participants must apply for acceptance. On the basis of the submitted dossier, the teaching artists select participants. The fees are between EUR 450 and EUR 1,200, depending on the duration of the course. Students are entitled to a reduced fee. All applications received by May 2, 2019 will be treated equally. Later applications are welcome, and will be processed in the order received, according to vacancies in the courses. More info here

Grants
The Summer Academy offers numerous grants, usually covering participation fee only. Application deadline is April 3, 2019.
