MIA Photo Fair, the international photography and moving image art fair of Italy, will stage its 10th edition in Milan from Thursday, March 19 to Sunday, March 22, 2020 at The Mall—Porta Nuova. The VIP opening will take place on Wednesday March 18, 2020.

MIA Photo Fair is currently accepting applications from galleries presenting curatorial projects. The deadline for applications is November 15, 2019.

The 2019 edition of MIA Photo Fair welcomed more than 25,000 visitors, 85 galleries, of which 37 galleries came from outside of Italy, more than 300 exhibiting artists, 20 specialized publishers, 10 independent artists and a rich cultural program, displaying events such as conferences and talks covering subjects on the photography market and the world of collecting, book presentations and book signings, within a total exhibition area of 5,000 sq.mt.

The 9th edition of the Italian photography fair showed excellent results in terms of visitor attendance and sales, with 85% of the galleries closing deals.

The fair also featured 5 sponsored awards: BNL BNP Paribas Group Award, an acquisition award which enriches the bank’s art collection, Architecture Photography Award focused on the steady conversation between photography and architecture, RaM Sarteano Award dedicated to the realization of a photographic exhibition at Rocca Manenti Castle (located in Sarteano, Siena), Rossana Orlandi Award offering a solo exhibition at Rossana Orlandi Gallery in the center of Milan and Codice MIA Award, the portfolio review dedicated to mid-career artists who intend to deal directly with international collectors.

MIA Photo Fair offers an opportunity for art collectors to enjoy a lively and innovative art event, experiencing a unique view on the photography art market in Italy, ranging from established to emerging artists. MIA Photo Fair has achieved the result of creating a new collectors’ base, which approaches contemporary art through the collection of photography.
