The ongoing climate crisis has brought about questions about mankind’s relationship to nature. The Trees, Light Green gathers landscape painting from the last turn of the century, a period that saw a drastic expansion of the Swedish forestry and mining industries, and contemporary landscapes that give expression to an increasingly ruined environment. The exhibition offers the opportunity to study classical depictions of nature from a time of massive industrialization and at the same time see expressions of its contemporary consequences and see how the landscape of painting has changed.

Bonniers Konsthall announces Theodor Ringborg as new Artistic Director
“Recent cultural political debates in Sweden have made obvious the need for a clear and resolute advocate for contemporary art. Bonniers Konsthall’s unique position and longstanding commitment to contemporary art makes it particularly suited to take on a much more defining role.”
Theodor Ringborg has been appointed the Artistic Director of Bonniers Konsthall from his position as Senior Curator. He is also a PhD. candidate at C/K, Goldsmiths University, London. At Bonniers Konsthall he has recently organized the exhibitions Better Dimension and The Image of War. Previous projects include The Most Photographed Barn in America at RIA, Imagine Being Here Now, the 6th Nordic Biennial, and Fall Out at Whitechapel Gallery. Ringborg has contributed to multiple books and magazines including Artforum, WdW Review, Cabinet Magazine, Ran Dian and Mousse Magazine. Recently authored monographic texts include Raqs Media Collective, Susan Phillipsz and Toril Johannessen, while books and anthologies include Read by/Written by, The Art of Memory, More Than Sound and Imagine Being Here Now.
