Alighiero Boetti (1940–1994), one of the most enigmatic Italian artists of the 20th century, is the focus of this year’s Giorno per Giorno / Day by Day. The project consists in a calendar of exhibitions, video screenings, talks, and conferences taking place daily in contemporary art institutions throughout Piedmont from 20 to 29 May 2011. This celebration is aimed at creating a shared itinerant programme centered on the figure of the Turin-born artist. Nine leading Piedmontese museums, foundations and art institutions have originated a series of events that will culminate in the Alighiero e Boetti Day, a special twelve-hour tribute and symposium co-produced by Artissima and Fondazione Nicola Trussardi.

Giorno per Giorno is promoted by Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT and coordinated by Artissima.
