Following the success of the inaugural edition in 2009, FIAC and its official partner, the Groupe Galeries Lafayette, will renew their program of support to galleries of the younger generation: the Lafayette Sector. Jury members Beatrix Ruf, Pierre Bal Blanc, Mathieu Copeland and Marc-Olivier Wahler have selected 16 galleries to exhibit in the Lafayette Sector on the basis of the exhibition project they will present at FIAC and the prospective dimension of their exhibition programmes throughout the year. The program, which provides significant financial support towards the presence of each gallery at FIAC, has also given rise to the creation, in 2009, of the Prix Lafayette, a prize awarded to one of the artists exhibiting in the Lafayette Sector consisting in the acquisition of a work by the Groupe Galeries Lafayette and an exhibition scheduled to take place at the Palais de Tokyo during FIAC in the following year. Carol Bove, who was awarded the Prix Lafayette in 2009, will exhibit at the Palais de Tokyo in October 2010.

FIAC will present a program of outdoor projects including installations and monumental sculptures in the Tuileries Gardens in collaboration with the Louvre Museum. As in previous years, FIAC’s cultural program will be organised in association with Paris’ major cultural institutions. The complete program of conferences and performances organised during FIAC, in collaboration with the Auditorium of the Louvre Museum, the Centre National des Arts Plastiques, the Jeu de Paume, and the Theatre National de Chaillot, will be available at the beginning of July on our website www.fiac.com.
