The Museum of World Cultures (MWK) in Frankfurt am Main is looking to employ a Press and Marketing Officer.

As the Press and Marketing Officer you will be asked to represent the Museum at public events; to develop concepts and strategies for effective cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary press campaigns; to write and disseminate press releases; to organize press conferences and tours for journalists; to cultivate regional, national and international contacts in the media; to develop and put into practice outreach strategies and specific campaigns that increase public awareness of the Museum of World Cultures; to conduct negotiations and finalize contracts with event managers and boards of tourism; to develop existing media partnerships; and to respond to questions from the national and international press. In addition, you are expected to support the marketing and sponsorship activities and to help in the organization and running of evening and daytime events.
We expect the candidate to have a higher diploma or university degree (BA) in Public Relations and Marketing or qualifications in a related area; to have several years of experience in the field of press and public relations; to have knowledge of the networks and connections to the key players in contemporary art, anthropology and cultural studies; to have an engaging, self-assured and outgoing personality; to have the ability to work to tight schedules and follow projects through from start to finish; to have an innovative and creative mind; to have particularly good communication skills; to be able to successfully negotiate partnerships, with a light touch in relation to different situations and interlocutors; to have very good German and English both spoken and written. Additional French or Spanish is an advantage.
In addition, we expect the candidate to fulfil the following requirements:
Good contacts with PR networks.
Excellence in written German.
In depth knowledge of museum marketing.
In depth knowledge of sponsoring and fundraising strategies in the fields of culture
and education.
The ability to work with precision and care, and to meet deadlines.
