Highly involved in the cultural life of the city, Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD) is a major art and design school in Switzerland with an internationally renowned profile. The school welcomes more than 700 students hailing from 40 countries in its BA and MA programmes in the fields of Fine Arts, Film Studies, Space Design and Interior Architecture, Visual Communication, Media and Interaction Design, Fashion, Jewellery and Accessory Design, and Watchmaking.
In addition to these different teaching programmes, HEAD is organised around various transversal “pools”: Photography, Audio-visual, Materials & Prototyping, Printing and Publishing. The pools bring together the skills and techniques specific to these fields and offer cross-disciplinary teaching in a variety of formats within the department and programme of each student (specialised courses, electives, creative weeks, documentation courses, tutorials, etc.). They contribute to the development of partnerships with institutions and companies and to the realisation of commissions. Finally, they respond to internal requests from HEAD’s various departments for exhibition set-ups, research projects, etc.).

Main duties
The Digital Pool, which is currently in prefiguration and is due to open at the start of the 2021–22 academic year, will take up the generic objectives of the pools described above. More specifically, it will involve offering and coordinating cross-disciplinary teaching at BA and MA level (aesthetic, technical, economic and social issues of digital technologies), supporting students’ projects and coordinating the production of digital artefacts internally (event websites, interactive devices, deep learning, programming, VR & AR, online exhibitions, etc.) as well as with external partners.
As Digital Pool Manager, you will supervise a team of approximately five people, including two technicians specialised in technical support and an artist-designer. You will be responsible for a prospective scientific and technological watch on digital issues and will foster the development of digital skills among HEAD staff and students.
With the support of an assistant (to be recruited), you will provide specific expertise relating to educational innovation and e-learning: identification of good practices, creation of educational scenarios, implementation of pilot projects, exhibitions and dissemination of online artistic projects, staff support, etc. You will establish links with local and international partners and will actively participate in existing networks, both at HES SO and at Swiss and international level.
Profile:
–University of Applied Sciences or MA level university education or experience in research and creation in the field of arts and digital design
–Proven experience of at least five years in the field of visual arts and/or design related to digital technologies
–Inventive, ambitious and dynamic personality
–Broad knowledge of digital devices related to teaching (e-learning in particular)
–Experience in project and team management
–Relational skills to accompany change
–Good language skills (French and English required)
