During two months, August and September 2006, the studio of Havana based artist Carlos Garaicoa and members of his team will be based in Liverpool. The move provides opportunities for conversation, exchange of ideas and access to information and material in different ways than their daily practice in Havana allows. In order to establish communication and engagement with communities and existing net works locally and regionally, a programmed schedule of workshop activities, discussion forums and open studio visits has been set up. Based on the teams various abilities; architecture, model making, photography, installation, animation, art history and on this occasion music, the project presents opportunities to share knowledge and culture with a wide group of participants and audiences. During two months, Garaicoa Studio in Liverpool will be a hub of inclusive activities in a creative and engaging atmosphere.
The project aims to support this mid-career artist in developing his interdisciplinary teamwork. The aim is also to make this process as transparent and open as possible for all audiences.

Carlos Garaicoa and his team propose a workshop directed towards artists and architects of all ages. Garaicoas starting point is that of an observer of urban decay. The workshop will explore relationships between architecture, art and the current positioning of artists within contexts of regeneration.
The aim of Art is Not Enough is to provide experiences that enable participants to, while combining theory and practice, work beyond traditional forms of art and architecture. The aim is also to facilitate contact and dialogue between various fields of creativity that shape our daily lives.
