Kodra former Army Camp, Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, Greece

It is the fifth consecutive year that the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Kalamaria organizes this most varied cycle of visual arts events, in the impressive exhibition spaces of the former Kodra Army Camp.

This years events:

Pro_aseis Version IV: 935m_

Curators: Xenia Kalpaktsoglou & Augustine Zenakos

Participating artists: Athanasios Argianas, Antonis Christodoulou, Dora Economou, Dimitris Foutris, Eleni Kamma, Nikos Kanarelis, Dionissis Kavallieratos, Nikos Papadimitriou, Poka-Yio, Hristos Ponis, Eleftheria Roussou, Georgia Sagri, Yorgos Sapountzis, Yiannis Theodoropoulos, Vassilis Vassilakakis, Kostis Velonis.

The exhibition ProTaseis Version IV: 935m is an attempt to establish a space of investigation. Perhaps its most fundamental feature is the decision not to use an a priori description, but to try to offer a chance to detect a certain phenomenon that of a contemporary Greek art scene.

The open discussion that is organized in the context of the exhibition ProTaseis – Version IV: 935m_ aims to strengthen the space of investigation offered by the show.
Residencies

Curators: Efi Strousa and Sania Papa

The Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Kalamaria and the Forum for European Artistic Exchanges of Thessaloniki have launched a Residency Program for artists that wish to work in Kalamaria. This years program is ongoing and the work produced during the artists stay will be exhibited in Action Field Kodra 2005.

A4 Project

Curator: Artemis Potamianou

Artist: Joseph Kosuth

Artists from all over the world take part in this project, submitting works on a single sheet of A4 paper. This idea by artist and curator Artemis Potamianou, in collaboration with artistic director Christos Savvidis, begins with the participation of renowned artist Joseph Kosuth.

Transit

Curator: Marta Moriarty

The curator presents Spanish artists whose work she has been able to carry in her suitcase.

RoomsToLet

Fifty three artists, up to thirty years old, and recent art school graduates exhibit latest work.

Video Art Projections

The Athens School of Fine Arts presents a program of video art, organized by Professors Yiorgos Chouliaras and Rena Papaspyrou, Lecturer Zafos Xagoraris, Sculpture Assistant Yannis Melanitis, and Student Representative Yiorgos Koumanidis.

In the context of the video art program, a photography exhibition by Panos Vardakas is also presented.

Also

An installation by the Drama Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Design project by group COR3 (Thanassis Babalis, Tommy Papaioannou and Athina Peletidou).
