LET ART OUT OF THE BOX! Cant trade fair presentations be thought of in categories other than the usual booth presentations and distinctly-separate gallery stands? OPEN SPACE is here to bring the various artistic exhibits and media from selected international galleries for contemporary art together in an open, spacious joint presentation. And to invite visitors to browse, communicate and, of course, buy in an unconventional and contemporary setting.
OPEN SPACE WILL BE LOCATED AT ART COLOGNE in close proximity to the leading international galleries for contemporary art with a high standard of service for everyone. In addition to lounge-niches and communication islands, there is a bar and a library. The projects aim is to bring a different, discursive quality to the presentation, thereby giving a well-informed, networked and international audience with changing needs room to evolve the market as a place for communication; not just commerce and competition.
NEUMANN LUZ is utilizing the new hall constellation at ART COLOGNE as an opportunity with OPEN SPACE to partially newly define the appearance of the art fair and adapt it to current demands. A specially-developed exhibition architecture is designed to create a functional and conducive situation. Only expressly-invited international galleries for young art may participate. Selection and subsequent assessment of the submitted proposals rests with an international jury. Approximately 20-40 participants are anticipated.
