Join contemporary artists as they discuss their work, the creative process, and issues in contemporary art. All sessions begin at 6:00 P.M.
February 13 Antenna Design. Masamichi Udagawa and Sigi Moeslinger, collaborators since 1997, create colorful, interactive, and user-friendly designs for high-technology companies and government clients, including the MTA, for whom they designed the MetroCard Vending Machines.
March 12 Thomas Hirschhorn. Thomas Hirschhorn uses found materials to make multilayered structures that challenge the definitions of sculpture, architecture, and monuments.
March 19 Chloe Piene. Chloe Piene infuses her drawings and videos with images of sexuality and death, raising issues of power and survival.
April 2 James Casebere. James Casebere builds small-scale models, which then serve as the subjects of his photographs. The result is a series of life-size images of seemingly haunted fictional spaces.
April 9 Robert Barry. From his early Minimalist paintings to the Conceptual, video, and spoken word pieces he creates today, Robert Barry continues to investigate ideas that frame and determine the meaning of art.
