A complete vision of current contemporary videoart.

25hrs is a screening of videoart to be held in Barcelona (Spain) on 9th May, 2003. We will be presenting around 300 pieces with a maximum length of 20 minutes by international artists of all tendencies and from different cultural environments, including: Emmanuelle Antille, Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Robert Arnold, Darren Almond, Lucas Ajemian, Oreet Ashery, Pierre Bismuth, Roderick Buchanan, Daniel Cockburn, Jordi Colomer, Neil Goldberg, Douglas Gordon, Damien Hirst, Miranda July, Georgina Starr, Julia Montilla, Kazumi Kanemaki, Jeroen Kooijmans, Cecilia Lundqvist, Kenny Macleod, Jorge Macchi, Tracey Moffatt, Matthias Müller, Ellen Pau, Steve Reinke, Karl Sims, Eder Santos, Saki Satom, Shimabuku, Fiona Tan, Tadasu Takamine, Kentaro Taki, Marijke van Warmerdam, Abbey Williams, Jane & Louise Wilson, Goang-ming Yuan…

The videos will be projected onto a large screen in the Poliesportiu El Raval, a large sports center in the heart of the city where we will provide seating and coffee for the viewers.

Artists and their work have been chosen from a variety of backgrounds and a wide scope of videographic registers in order to give a complete, general vision of current video art. The selection was made by invitation and through an open call.

25hrs will publish a comprehensive catalogue of the event.

The event will start at 7 p.m., Friday 9th May 2003. As an introduction, Dziga Vertov’s 1929 movie, ‘The Man With The Movie Camera’ will be shown. This film is our “25th hour” for its pioneering use of film techniques now in widespread use.

25hrs is a project by TheVideoArtFoundation in collaboration with UNXposed.
