February 22–26, 2023
ARCOmadrid 2023 will celebrate its 42nd edition from February 22 to 26. From now until September 26, national and international galleries can apply to participate in the fair’s general programme which, once again, will form the backbone of ARCOmadrid.
As per usual, ARCO will continue to work with each one of the galleries to generate new opportunities and drive their success, while also devising ways to attract the most interesting professionals to trigger a quality and relevant debate.
Quality continues to lie at the heart of ARCOmadrid which is why it will continue to limit the maximum number of artists, always proportional to the booth sizes, and to focus on artist projects presented either individually or in dialogue. All of this reinforces one of ARCO’s primary values as a fair for discovery.
Thus, the central theme of ARCOmadrid 2023 will be “The Mediterranean: a round sea”, which will continue to revolve around the art scenes of the countries surrounding it, from south to north and coast to coast. It will also maintain the curated sections of previous editions: Opening, which will again bring new contents to the fair and further ARCO’s discovery dimension; and Never the Same. Latin American Art, which will continue to explore the collaboration between artists and galleries from Latin America.
ArtsLibris will concentrate the art publications in an area geared towards initiation in collecting, while other initiatives set in motion by Fundación ARCO will aim to drive collecting.
The traditional and well-established ARCOmadrid Forum will provide a space for investigation directed by curators and professionals, focusing on the present and future of contemporary art. And Office: Open For Discussion will draw professionals of interest to the galleries while also fostering ARCOmadrid as a driver of thinking around contemporary art.
All galleries interested may present their application to participate on the website until September 26.
