Joint and dual degree programs, global opportunities to be highlighted

The Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts will host two virtual open houses this fall for students interested in studying architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design at Washington University in St. Louis. The online events will be Friday, November 4 at 11:30am CT and Wednesday, November 16 at 9am CT. Advance registration is required.
Attendees will hear directly from WashU faculty; take a virtual tour of the studios and facilities, including the LEED Platinum Weil Hall; and learn more about the curriculum, research, and global opportunities available to graduate students.
As part of a tier-one research university, the Sam Fox School’s STEM-designated MArch, MLA, and MUD programs focus on design, environmental ethics, historical and global perspectives, innovation, and technological fluency, preparing students to be leaders in their fields.
“More than ever, Sam Fox School students want to bring design education closer to citizenry—to expand their sense of responsibility and be problem-solvers working in real-world conditions,” says Heather Woofter, Director of the College of Architecture and Graduate School of Architecture & Urban Design and Sam and Marilyn Fox Professor.
Graduate students in WashU’s Sam Fox School can earn a dual degree between programs or a joint degree in business administration, computer science, public health, social work, or construction management. The MArch program offers both a 3-year curriculum and a 2-year curriculum for advanced students. Students may also pursue an MS in Advanced Architectural Design or an MS in Architectural Studies.
Full-tuition and partial-tuition scholarships, fellowships, and financial support are available, as well as specialized opportunities for travel and research.
