The School of Art within the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor in Painting beginning August 2023. The position offers a three-year renewable contract, based on exemplary performance and university need.
Located within a tier one research institution, this dynamic school offers BFA, BS, and MFA degrees in Studio Arts. We seek applicants with a strong background in painting, an awareness of critical issues in the field, and the ability to think expansively.
The school offers intensive concentrations in ceramics, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and painting with a commitment to interdisciplinary learning. The ideal candidate will have experience in building connections between disciplines.
Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses with the opportunity to work with graduate students. Service obligations include advising and mentoring, curricular development, and participation on school, college, and university committees.
