The Art Explora Foundation is committed to working with public and private actors to support creative initiatives and the dissemination of culture in society at large. To this end, Art Explora has joined forces with the Cité internationale des arts to create in 2021 a biannual residency programme for artists, artist collectives and researchers in Montmartre, just a stone’s throw from Sacré-Coeur in Paris. Artists are invited to develop a project focusing on science, technology or social and environmental contemporary issues. Some 20 residents are selected each year to join the residency.
For the first session of the 2024 edition, 10 artists from 10 different countries were chosen by a selection committee. They will arrive at the Montmartre site of the Cité internationale des arts in March 2024 for a residency of three to six months.
