“Research + Practice” is a conversation and gathering space for the GWU Corcoran and the Washington DC regional creative community. It brings together local and visiting artists and designers to share creative and scholarly work, both finished and in-process, and to inspire new work and new working relationships. It launched in the 2023–24 academic year as a way to connect the happenings of the GWU Corcoran with those of the wider arts-design world. Students gain real-world insights by engaging with researchers and practitioners across the arts and design. Past participants include:
Kelli Anderson, Ama BE, Philip Brookman, Natalie Campbell, Michele Carlson, Marc Choi, Matt Eich, Josh T. Franco, Ken Grossinger, Curran Hatleberg, Schilica Howard, James Huckenpahler, Katty Huertas, Irfana Jetha Noorani, Chanel Johnson, Kin Kelley-Chung, Jon Key, Aasawari Kulkarni, Carmen Montoya, Lauren Onkey, Babette Pendleton, Patrick McDonough, Siobhan Rigg, José Ruiz, Nidhi Singh Rathore, Jennifer Stager, Susan Sterner, Allyson Vieira, Sid Williams, Ning Yu.
